GSI Commerce's Logistics Services provides scalability and versatility across product categories ranging from electronics and cosmetics to apparel and home décor through inventory management and timely order fulfillment. Logistics Services includes direct-ship, value-added services like personalization and customization, drop-shipping, and buying and merchandising.

GSI Commerce receives, stores, and manages inventory through its two temperature-controlled fulfillment centers located in Kentucky. The first facility is a 470,000-square foot facility with an additional 300,000 square feet of pick-level mezzanine. The second facility is 400,000-square feet with the option to expand to over 800,000-square feet.

Fulfillment center capabilities include dynamic storage, bin size/location optimization, configurable storage locations, seven days a week fulfillment and shipping operations, partner-specific returns processing and disposition flows, and handling of garment-on-hanger. By monitoring shipping performance against service level standards and making real-time inventory updates to the Web store, GSI Commerce provides a quality shopping experience for the customer.

GSI Commerce supports a variety of value-added services that includes gift wrapping and cards, specialized packaging and branding, poly-bagging, re-ticketing, monogramming, embossing, embroidery, promotional inserts, kitting, and bundling. Logistics Services also provides secure zones for small and/or high-value goods that are controlled by locked, enclosed cages as well as by personnel supervision during the pick and put away processes. In addition, GSI Commerce has the ability to recondition or refurbish returned products, including the testing of electronic goods and additional care for apparel such as ironing and steaming.

Logistics Services can extend partners' product offerings via virtual inventory through its extensive drop-ship network that includes more than 400 vendors that ship directly to customers. This system allows GSI Commerce's partners to operate with greater inventory efficiency and offer shoppers a wider assortment than otherwise possible. GSI Commerce's dedicated vendor operations group monitors drop-ship performance utilizing GSI Commerce's proprietary fulfillment management system application. GSI Commerce uses this application to facilitate vendor set-up, exchange order and order status data, and maintain and monitor inventory availability and shipping performance. GSI Commerce reduces partners' implementation efforts and shortens time required to add products, provides hands-on management of day-to-day operations to facilitate successful execution of partners' drop-ship strategies, and supports the vendor network with a dedicated vendor operations team.

GSI Commerce also has a team of buyers that can assist partners in procuring products, accessories, supplies and specialized services. GSI Commerce buyers are supported with industry-leading tools for merchandise planning, analysis and procurement.
